SYNOPSIS
Using recently discovered musical recordings my parents created in the 1970s as my soundtrack, 7.5_inches_per_second:// explores the humanity of objects, the labor of grieving, family archeology and cloud storage as a posthumous forwarding address.
After my parents passed in 2012, I discovered that our home contained a vast multi-generational archive, which sparked me to begin researching my family genealogy.
Through sorting, documenting and cataloguing my family’s possessions, I have created a non-conventional archive of my own design, which also articulates a personal quirky meditation on time - specifically in its relation to accumulation and ever-expanding modes of storage.
